Welcome to The Goldpine Post! In this month’s edition, we will be taking a closer look into the sheep industry. We visit James and Kiri Ellworthy of Wairewa Farm in Martinborough, where they run an 850-hectare sheep and beef farm. Kiri is also the co-owner of the Tora Coastal Walk, an epic adventure encompassing stunning views of diverse landscapes.

We visited the New Zealand Young Farmers (NZYF) Goldpine Fencing Competition in Christchurch last month, which highlighted the amazing talent of 14 participants from seven different regions across New Zealand.

Our State of the Industry piece for the month is focused on sheep. We share qualitative and quantitative information on how the sheep industry is doing in New Zealand, hearing from key individuals within the sector that showcase the strengths and challenges of lamb and wool production.
