The Post March 2024

Welcome to the March edition of The Post. This month, we look at the viticulture industry and how vineyards are paving the way for generational success. Our first profile features Marisco Family Vineyards, owned by the Marris family and based in Marlborough. The business has five properties with over 1,000 hectares of vines planted. They are the proud producers of popular brands such as The Ned and Leefield Station.

We visited Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant in the Hauraki Gulf, which presented us with incredible views, warm people, and five sites dedicated to 13 hectares of vineyards. The business is owned by the Jones family and has been operating for 32 years, producing some of the best wine that Waiheke has to offer.

Waikato-based business G&M Fencing is run by father-son duo Geoff and Mitch van Dam. While we were visiting the pair in Waitoa, Mitch showed us a tip on how to install a stay assembly.

HealthPost Nature Trust is still at work within the Tasman region, helping to restore and preserve biodiversity within the area. Recently, they had their largest and possibly final pakahā (fluttering shearwater) translocation, with the hopes of achieving their vision of a mainland breeding colony.

Our State of the Industry article for this month focuses on the viticulture sector. We talk to key leaders and individuals within the industry as they share their insights and experiences.

We intend to continue supplying you with the best stories, activities and techniques in agriculture. If you have anything that you would like us to share, please get in touch.
