The Power of Wood
We’re growing for good.
Pinus radiata has been the commercial wood of New Zealand for generations. It grows quickly and provides a high-quality resource for construction and infrastructure. But don’t get us fooled, we back all trees. Exotics give us commercial production to reduce our demand for plastic, steel and concrete, and natives give us the forests of New Zealand.
We are strong believers in having the right tree in the right place. One of the benefits of pine plantations is the fact that they will grow in the most unproductive soils: soils not suitable for farming or growing food. With over ten million hectares of forest in New Zealand, eight million being native forest, we need to be smart about where plantation forests are planted.
